Angel of the Year Award Winner Announced at Highlands Medical Center

Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, celebrated the kick-off of National Nurses Week in a special way this year.  In honor of Nurses Day, HMC awarded their first annual Angel of the Year Award at a celebration reception earlier today.  This award was created in memory of Angel Pritchett, a young nurse in the hospital Emergency Room who passed away suddenly in 2018.  Each year the award recipient will be determined by nursing staff vote.  This year the first Angel of the Year was awarded to the nurse for whose memory the award honors, Angel Pritchett - in recognition of the compassionate care she provided to patients during her time as a nurse at HMC.  Members of Angel’s family were present to accept the award.  They were presented with a special award to take home in her memory, and a new Angel of the Year plaque featuring her image will hang in the HMC lobby to showcase this special award.  Thank you to Dean and Renee Guthrie of Southern All Sports for donating the plaque in Angel’s memory.
