Dr. Chris Clayton Joins Medical Staff

Scottsboro, Ala.-Highlands Medical Center would like to welcome Dr. Chris Clayton to their medical staff.

Dr. Clayton, who is originally from New Hope, Ala., feels right at home in Scottsboro. "I grew up hunting and fishing in Scottsboro and loved visiting here," he says.

Dr. Clayton received his Bachelor's degree from Birmingham Southern College; attended medical school at UAB; and also completed a one-year rural medicine program, obtaining a Master's degree at the University of Alabama.

"Medicine is about people and I want to connect with my patients on every level so that we can build a mutual trust. It's a blessing and an honor to be a physician. Patients place their trust and life in your hands; they allow you into their lives and open up to you."

"Our community is very fortunate to gain such a talented physician," says Kim Bryant, CEO Highlands Medical Center. "He is a very qualified physician who brings with him compassion and a dedication to his profession that is admirable."

Not only is Dr. Clayton dedicated to his patients, but he is also confident in Highlands Medical Center and the physicians who practice there. "We at Highlands have the same training as those in larger hospitals in neighboring areas. I feel that it's better for patients and their families to seek medical care within their community than to travel outside the area."

He and his wife Rachel look forward to getting to know their neighbors and being a part of this community.

Dr. Clayton will be joining Drs. Gabriel and Maggie Belue at Highlands Family Medicine and will begin seeing patients July 15. To schedule an appointment, contact his office at 256-259-0061.
