Lackey Law Firm Donates $10,000

Scottsboro, AL-   On Wednesday, July 6, The Lackey Law Firm, of Scottsboro, was honored with a plaque from The Highlands Foundation for their generosity toward the completion of the new Highlands Health and Rehab facility. Gary, Justin and Jennifer Lackey donated $10,000 to the Foundation in conjunction with its annual Gala. The funds were used for the center’s dining room and other furnishings throughout the facility.

The dining room is enjoyed by all of the center’s residents and visitors. "It is important to have quality healthcare close to home, and our donation reflects our belief that it is vital for successful, local businesses to give back to the community,” Jennifer said. “If a loved one must spend time in a long-term care center, it is wonderful to have such a nice, new facility here where you can visit every day instead of having to make a drive out of town or out of county."

Amber Benson, Foundation Director, expressed her gratitude to the firm, and to everyone in the community for their efforts. “Through the generosity of this community,” she said, “The Foundation has already contributed $200,000 to the facility. Our goal is to provide an additional $100,000 in the near future for the comfort and care of the center’s residents.” This year’s Gala raised approximately $36,000. “We are proud to have had a small role in the construction of this new facility,” said Justin Lackey. “It will be a true asset to our county for many years.”
