Highlands Foundation presented Highlands Health & Rehab a $100,000 check Thursday, August 20th. The money will help furnish the new nursing home that is currently under construction.

“Jackson County Health Care Authority Board of Directors would like to thank those who made contributions to Highlands Foundation to make this possible,” said Chris Gulley, JCHCA Chairman of the Board. “Highlands Health & Rehab is an important part of healthcare for our community. The new facility will be something in which the entire community can be proud.

Highlands Foundation has held many fundraisers over the past two years, with all monies raised earmarked for Highlands Health & Rehab’s new facility. The foundation’s goal is to raise $300,000 for Highlands Health & Rehab. Currently, the foundation is a third of the way toward its goal.

“Highlands Foundation board members, Jackson County Health Care Authority (JCHCA) board, along with businesses, individuals and employees who support the foundation through fundraisers and private donations are to thank” said Amber Benson, foundation director.

Highlands Health & Rehab is expected to be complete this fall. The Foundation will continue to raise money for Highlands Health & Rehab until its goal is reached. Upcoming fundraisers include an employee Iron Bowl tailgate party, Christmas garland sale, Lights of Love and the annual gala, which will be in February 2016.

“Our staff, residents and family members are thankful for the support of Highlands Foundation and those who made contributions on our behalf,” said Manda Mountain, chief administrator at Highlands Health & Rehab. “We are eager for our residents to have a new facility they can call home.”
