Dragon Boat Races
The Highlands Medical Center Hospital Foundation has partnered with Nourish One Child to bring the exciting Dragon Boat Race and Festival to Scottsboro! The action takes place on the beautiful Goose Pond Colony Resort, where fans cheer on their favorite teams as they race in 46-foot-long traditional Hong Kong-style dragon boats along the Tennessee River. Each team is made up of 22 paddlers, including a drummer at the front, 20 rowers, and a steerer at the back. With a history dating back over 2,300 years, dragon boat racing delivers a one-of-a-kind spectacle, featuring vibrant boats, rhythmic drumming, and powerful paddling. Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot is a 5K and fun run held just before Thanksgiving, promoting healthy living while raising vital funds for Highlands Medical Center. Hosted at the scenic Goose Pond Colony Resort, this event brings together participants of all ages to support our local healthcare initiatives. Last year marked the inaugural event, and we are excited to continue growing this tradition to benefit our community. Join us for a fun and meaningful way to kick off the holiday season while supporting a great cause!
Holiday Tour of Homes
Get into the holiday spirit with the first-ever Scottsboro Christmas Tour of Homes, happening Sunday, November 30th from 1:00–4:00 PM!
Enjoy a festive afternoon touring beautifully decorated homes throughout Scottsboro, each uniquely styled to celebrate the magic of the Christmas season. Whether you're looking for holiday inspiration or just love the charm of seasonal décor, this event is sure to delight.
