Highlands Medical Center emergency department specialists treat life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Teams of board-certified physicians, registered nurses, advanced mid-level providers, and other specially trained staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to treat anyone seeking emergency medical care. Each year, HMC emergency care physicians see approximately 18,000 patients in our emergency room.
In the most advanced critical cases when specialized care is needed, we coordinate efforts with Highlands EMS and the Air Evac Lifeteam located on our campus for transfer to the appropriate facility for treatment. We work in association with Kid Care when critical pediatric situations require additional resources.
